Classic Jordan Tour

Discover one of the 7 New Wonders of the World - the ancient city of Petra - on this fantastic 8 day tour. Plus visit Crusader Castles in central Jordan, camp under the stars in the Wadi Rum Desert and float effortlessly in the Dead Sea.

Example Itinerary

Day 1

Depart from London on your flight to Amman

You'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel

Day 2

In the morning you'll visit downtown Amman to see the historical sites, including the Citadel home to the Roman Temple of Hercules

In the afternoon visit the Royal Automobile Museum before heading to Rainbow Street to enjoy the cafes and street food on offer

Day 3

Travel north to the Roman city of Jerash, one of the best preserved in the Middle East, and explore the theatres, temples and the hippodrome

Continue on to Ajloun Castle, built in the nearby hills during the Crusades by an Arab General

Return to Amman later in the afternoon

Day 4

Journey to Jordan's best known site, the Nabatean city of Petra

On your drive you'll stop at Shobak Castle, the first of the Crusader Castles built in Jordan

Your journey will then take you to Little Petra, close to the main city and home to a small siq with carved facades

From here you'll be able to walk to Petra, arriving to the site at the Monastery and continuing your journey through the city

Day 5

Begin your day in the siq with your guide, before continuing on by the Treasury and through the city, exploring tombs, palaces, temples and theatres

In the afternoon you can choose to climb to the High Place of Sacrifice and explore the alternate paths down

In the evening there will be the opportunity to learn about Jordan cuisine at Petra Kitchen

Day 6

Head off-road and into the desert to explore the magnificent dunes and rocky outcrops of Wadi Rum, a vast desert home to natural wonders

Your Bedouin guide will take you to dunes and small canyons, plus there will be the opportunity for some walking and even a camel ride before arriving at your desert camp for a night under the stars! (Dinner included)

Day 7

Admire the sunrise in the desert and then head back through the sand to the highway and travelling north to the Dead Sea

Arriving at your hotel, you'll have the afternoon to rest and relax - lie back in the salt waters or try some of the therapeutic mud

Day 8

After breakfast you'll be transferred back to Amman airport for your return flight to London
